Through our continuous program of building award winning hot rods/classics and record setting race cars, we have a deep working knowledge of what it takes to develop safety systems tailored for the individual racer, including equipment for racers with physical limitations. Mayeda Motorsports Owner and CEO Vincent Mayeda currently campaigns and drives the “Time Machine” AA/Fuel Altered. Time Machine is a 125-inch wheel base fuel funny car chassis with a 1932 Austin Bantam outlaw altered fiberglass body – paint by Bob Godfrey. It’s powered by a 14-71 supercharged 500 ci Chrysler running on 90% nitromethane – built and tuned by Bill Taylor. Safety equipment by DJ Safety.
Vincent is the current record holder for the fastest and quickest drag car (Funny Car) powered by a factory Pontiac engine block. From 2010 to 2012, Vincent and Bill Taylor continually set and reset the 6-second quarter mile ET record – making more than a dozen 6-second ET passes. Then in September 2013, the team recorded a 6.35 ET (an ET that will likely never be broken for a factory Pontiac block) at the famous Famoso Dragway in Bakersfield, CA. Bill Taylor built and tuned the engine that made the historic runs.
