DJ Safety flame resistant 2-layer Nomex balaclava or head socks provide extra protection for the driver (and passengers) in the vulnerable collar area between the collar of the race suit and bottom of the helmet. It also meets the SFI-3.3 rating for racing organizations and classes that require an SFI-rated balaclava. The bell designed skirt helps keep smoke and other debris from entering under the helmet, and the skirt design allows it to be tucked into the suit under the collar or left to the outside of the suit (driver preference), providing equal protection. The DJ Safety balaclava comes in a single large reinforced eye port style for an unobstructed view, as well as making it easier for wearing glasses. It is soft and tailored to comfortably stretch around the driver’s head to make helmet installation and removal easier.
