An avid sportsman drag racer since 1982, Vincent Mayeda was also exposed to land speed racing and involved in the circle and dirt track racing scene in his hometown of Stockton, CA from an early age while tagging along with his uncle Stan.
Things took a fateful turn In 1984 when Vincent was in the tech inspection line at Sacramento Raceway Park and noticed that the racer in front of him wasn’t going pass tech because his driver restraints were expired. Vincent offered the racer his passenger side Deist Safety restraints from his car to help the racer pass tech and race that night. Mayeda Motorsports was founded the next day.
Since that day, Mayeda Motorsports has made it its mission to raise the awareness of racer safety, while making safety equipment more accessible. What sets us apart is our focus on developing and delivering custom safety systems that fit the individual racer and vehicle. We also proudly support young racers to help instill a mindset of safety.
